An Alternative Viewpoint

As part of our college course this year we are required to undertake an Alternative Processes module, which allows us to look at some of the most interesting old techniques such as Aygyrotypes, Cyanotypes, Gum Bichromate Prints, Salt Printing, Albumen Printing and many more.

I decided to do Cyanotypes (the blue main image to this post) and Salt Printing (the bottom picture).

Both processes are horrifically complicated, but great fun to do.

Apologies for the rubbish quality scans, especially on the cyanotype, which almost looks dirty, yet my original is spotless :(

I think the cyanotype is fantastic, Tom; though not just for the rendering, but for the subject you chose to showcasr it. Excellent (and I can feel a few wee ideas sparking in my noggin')

Yer no doin' tooo bad for a rubbish tog, eh :)
