Voodoo for Scotland via the Sun and Star

The picture shown left has appeared in todays Scottish Sun and Scottish Daily Star promoting the Edinburgh Dungeons voodoo hex over the Italian team for tomorrows game.

The Scottish Sun story was "The Edinburgh Dungeons has got into the big match spirit by creatin VOODOO DOLLS of top Italian Players.

"Visitors are being urged to hammer nails into effigies of Rino Gattuso and Luca Toni.

"Dungeon manager Allan McKain, 28 said 'We picked Gattuso as he's their midfield general and striker Toni because he scored against us last time.

'Anything that helps the boys is worth a try and we thought we'd give our visitors the chance to have some fun as well'

"Dungeon actor John Wilkinson, 24, added: 'It might or might not work, but we need every bit of help we can get.' "

The Scottish Daily Star story was "A Scots tourist attraction has created voodoo dolls of Italian stars ahead of Scotland's crucial Euro 2008 decider at Hampden tomorrow. Visitors to the Edinburgh Dungeon are being encouraged to hammer nails into effigies of danger men Gennaro Gattuso and Luca Toni.

"Dozens ofTartan Army footsoldiers who'll do anything to increase Scotland's chances of victory, have queued to stick nails in the wooden dolls' feet and knees.

"The effigies are on display in the Dungeons's tortue chamber. Dungeon manager ALlan McKain, 28, said: 'We picked Gennaro Gattuso as he's their midfield general and Luca Toni because he scored against us last time.

'If we can use a bit of vooddoo to help those two pick up wee niggling injuries that would certainly help our cause.' "
